California Nanotechnologies Corp.'s stock price jumped 68% today following the release of its Q1 2025 financial results yesterday after market close.
Cal Nano, headquartered in Cerritos, California, specializes in advanced material processing technologies like Spark Plasma Sintering (SPS) and Cryogenic Milling, serving industries such as aerospace, renewable energy, defence, and semiconductors.
The company reported record revenues of $1.75 million for the quarter ending May 31, 2024, a 243% increase compared to the same period last year. Net income rose dramatically to a whopping $696,042 from $35,467. Adjusted EBITDA also saw a considerable increase to $754,465 from $112,653 the previous year. This impressive growth was driven by higher revenues from manufacturing services and significant equipment sales.
CEO Eric Eyerman stated, "Our team has been working hard to set up the infrastructure to support the new SPS and cryomilling equipment while maintaining our growth trajectory with our existing Cerritos-based operations. The new capacity in Santa Ana is expected to allow us to process larger part sizes and higher material volumes, contributing to revenues in Q3/FY2025 and onwards."
Revenue Growth: The delivery of two SPS systems to universities, valued at approximately $525,000, and ongoing manufacturing programs with key clients significantly boosted revenue.
Operational Expansion: The company's new Santa Ana facility is set to significantly increase manufacturing capacity, allowing for the processing of larger part sizes and higher material volumes, contributing to future revenues.
Cost Management: Effective cost control measures improved the company's gross profit margin from 56% to 66%. Increased operational headcount and optimized scheduling contributed to additional capacity and revenue generation.
